Had a great time in Cornwall – we definitely will go back. We were so lucky with the weather as it was sunny and cloudy but dry the whole time. We stayed in Mousehole which is just the cutest little fishing village and we rented a cottage which was perfect. There were two fantastic restaurants with amazing fresh fish and lobster. Plus Pam’s Pantry for the rather large fry-up in the mornings. We met up with old friends, Janet and Andrew and it was great to catch up on all their news. We did a bit of sight seeing and went to St Ives which is also really attractive and has the added benefit of the Tate Gallery which is worth a visit and through each window you have the most amazing view of the a huge sandy beach and the sea. Also went to the Minack Theatre which is spectacular and looks like it has been there for a hundred years. It is an outdoor greek-style amphitheatre on the edge of a cliff with beautiful views of the sea – I would love to go and see a production there.
We were then all taken to the Jo’s party in coaches. They have a beautiful house on the northern coast of Cornwall with wonderful views. They had two huge marquees which were set within the trees of the garden and done in a Morroccan theme. There was a Burlesque dancer, Roxy Velvet, who did end up with not a lot on but tassles! Also a fantastic magician who really was clever- I kept trying to see how he did it – but he was the best I have ever seen. There was also a fabulously fit contortionist who managed to get her whole body in a small glass box, a Cornish band and then a disco. It was a lovely evening and my sequin harem pants blended in quite well (I didn’t look like the Magician’s mate) and am trying to think when I can wear them again. I wore a new necklace that I have just made inspired by a recent royal wedding and it looked great.
